Explination

So here is the background story before i show you my piece.

I'm in a jounalism class at my high school and the news paper we publish is called the Hungry Tiger Times. I was askd to write a political piece about the cons to Obama being predident. When i was assigned this assignment I truely did not wish to do it for many reasons, but namely because I knew I was going to be writing my PREP Paper. But my teacher really thought I would be the perfect person to write it and do a good job so iI finally gave in and said I would write the peice. So I proceeded to write the peice for about a week and half, staying up till all hours of the night researching and backing up my opinions with facts and examples and documentation. I turned in by the dead line a 3 page, fully writen peice with cites and sources at the bottom of where to go to see what I read and based my paper off of, to my teacher. She comes to me a week and half later and says that she couldn't edit any of the content of my paper out and that it might be to long to go in the paper. So I suggest that she simply take an excerpt from my paper and put it in and at the bottom put "to see full article please visit our website @.....". Instead of doing this she decides to wait till shes already sent the paper out to tell me that she isn't going to publish it in the paper because Chris, the boy that was supposed to write the pro's to Obama being president, didn't get a chance to rebuttle my peice. Now mind you I dod not write my peice according to anyones thoughts but my own, so why should he get a chance to write a rebuttle to mine when that is not what it was meant for in the first place. But never the less I try to go with it, and then she tells me that she would like my peice to be an argumentative peice and that first she must clear it with our principal Stubbs, now that doesn't quite make sense to me but what the hey I'll go with it again. So I let it go and take a seat and say to myself well just see what happens and hopefully the outcome is satisfactory.
Well, then our newspaper comes out, and what ended up getting put in the paper i ask you? Chris's peice got put in the paper and a deeply offensive and i think very wrong oppinion about Prop 8. Now I myself dont really care about the gay issue, you want to be gay thats fine with me just keep it out of my face. but this piece about prop 8 really pissed me off to be honest. I dont think that half the information in it was correct, and if it is the author sure as hell didnt cite it. I think that it was very distastefull and am embarrassed that it made it into the paper. But I digress. So Chris, the boy that didnt write an Obama piece that could compete with mine, got his piece published!!! Im so deeply offended at the SO FAR LEFT AGENDA that has been pushed in this paper and that not one conservative article was published. I worked incredibly hard, and spent a large amount of hours, that could have been spent working on my PREP Paper or applying to college and scholarships, that I wasted on that stupid article!! Why did I write it if I was just going to be censored and snuffed in the first place.

Cons to Obama as President
November 18, 2008
November Issue

For those of you who don’t know me let me warn you that I have very specific views but they are only my opinions, and more often than not, they tend to be quite unpopular with most people. I would like to begin by saying that I couldn’t care less if our President was green with pink stripes and purple spots, I would just like a good president. The color of the mans skin has no bearing on the kind of President that he will be or the kind of man that he is. Although I do believe it had a lot to do with why he was elected. If I were a registered voter I would be registered as an Independent Conservative. I have many “liberal” views, but most of my opinions are very conservative and very black and white, I don’t believe in a very large gray area. I believe that things are almost always right or they are wrong and there isn’t a lot of room in between. Most people my age disagree with the way I think which is why I think I was chosen to write this side of the argument.
I, personally, do not think that Barack Obama should be our next president. I do not support his views or where he stands on a moral ground on most all of his policies. My disliking of Obama started when he first began to run. There were many things about his past and childhood that I felt was unclear and somewhat “fuzzy”. He seemed very content to dance around questions rather than answer them in a straight forward manner. Obama is currently being sued about his citizenship. There should be no question in any ones mind about the President-elects citizenship and yet there is a law suit going on. There are questions about where he received his 200 million dollar donation, which Obama’s office is refusing to allow to be looked into. There are also questions on whether his money is from foreign and illegal sources. The church that Obama and his family associate with is also another issue for me. You cannot tell me that his attendance at that church has not affected his world view and the way he will run this country. His wife is also a published PHD. The paper that she published discusses all the reason why separatism and segregation is good for this country!! How can the Leader-to-be of the foremost superpower in the free world today having the influence of segregation and separatism and still be successful?! His voting habits are also predictably democrat. He routinely votes for the redistribution of wealth and raising taxes. With all of these current issues surrounding our President-elect, how did he even get elected?!
Currently President-elect, Obama, is being sued by a former competitor over his citizenship. A former competitor of his has brought up the question of whether Obama is an actual natural born citizen of the United States. Philip J. Berg, a Clinton supporter, had filled a lawsuit in federal court in Pennsylvania. Berg is challenging Obama’s qualifications saying that Obama lost his citizenship when his mother married an Indonesian man and moved there late in her pregnancy. When Obama returned to the states, Berg is saying that Obama did not take an Oath of Allegiance at age 18 to regain his U.S. citizenship status. Berg’s lawsuit also raises issues with the fact the Obama has triple citizenship. He is not only a “so-called” citizen of the US, according to Berg, but also Indonesia and Kenya. Berg questions the legitimacy of Obama’s birth certificate, and whether Obama has renounced his citizenship to these other countries. Mr. Berg has stated that if Barack Hussein Obama will produce a certified "vault" birth certificate, a copy of his Certificate of Citizenship and a copy of his Oath of Allegiance to the United States, that he (Mr. Berg) will dismiss his lawsuit voluntarily. To date, Obama has refused to comply with Mr. Berg's request. While Mr. Berg’s lawsuit is by far the most popular lawsuit, there are currently up to 8 others that have been filed.

People, who have nothing to hide, hide nothing. It’s just that simple. The issue of where Obama suddenly procured the funds used to run his campaign is a question plaguing many Americans. The question of where he acquired his funding also brings up questions of whether he has been bought off, whose pocket is he in, and so on and so forth. More than half of the whopping $426.9 million Barack Obama has raised has come from small donors whose names the Obama campaign won't disclose. Questions have arisen about millions more in foreign donations the Obama campaign has received that apparently have not been vetted as legitimate. Massie Ritsch acknowledges that there is skepticism about all the unreported money, especially in the Obama campaign coffers. “We and seven other watchdog groups asked both campaigns for more information on small donors,” he said. “The Obama campaign never responded,” whereas the McCain campaign “makes all its donor information, including the small donors, available online.” (Ritsch). In a letter dated June 25, 2008, the FEC asked the Obama campaign to verify a series of $25 donations from a contributor identified as “Will, Good” from Austin, Texas. Mr. Good Will listed his employer as “Loving” and his profession as “You.” A Newsmax analysis of the 1.4 million individual contributions in the latest master file for the Obama campaign discovered 1,000 separate entries for Mr. Good Will, most of them for $25. In total, Mr. Good Will gave $17,375. Following this and subsequent FEC requests, campaign records show that 330 contributions from Mr. Good Will were credited back to a credit card. But the most recent report, filed on Sept. 20, showed a net cumulative balance of $8,950 — still well over the $4,600 limit. All these questionable donations are coming from within the US. Then there are the overseas donations. The FEC has compiled a separate database of potentially questionable overseas donations that contains more than 11,500 contributions totaling $3.38 million. More than 520 listed their “state” as “IR,” which the FEC often uses as an abbreviation for "information requested." Another 63 listed it as “UK,” the United Kingdom. In June, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi gave a public speech praising Obama, claiming foreign nationals were donating to his campaign. “All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man,” the Libyan leader said. “They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency..." Though Gadhafi asserted that fundraising from Arab and African nations were “legitimate,” the fact is that U.S. federal law bans any foreigner from donating to a U.S. election campaign. The FEC analyst says that Obama's filings indicate he has received large, bundled sums of donations from overseas, sometimes exceeding a quarter millions dollars. "It's suspicious, but it's the small donations made by credit card that need to be examined. We've raised red flags on many of these and the Obama campaign just ignores us. After this election, after we've sifted through everything -- if we're allowed to sift through everything -- I am confident that we are looking at perhaps the largest fine ever leveled against a national campaign entity."

I, and this is all strictly opinion based, have an issue with Obama’s church and religious affiliation, as well as the kind of influence that his wife is going to be. After 20 years of attending church regularly, being inundated with the speech and words of his pastor, and being a very active member and participating in church activies, how can you tell me that the hate speech his pastor has spewed has not affected him and his way of thinking at all? His pastor has gone on record and spoken about what his church teaches. He always says “black family, black community, black theology, black center”. Hanity and Colmes brought up a very good point during one of their radio sessions with Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor. Hanity read an excerpt from the Trinity Unity Church of Christ saying “Commitment to the black community, commitment to the black family, adherence to the black work ethic. It goes on, pledge, you know, acquired skills available to the black community, strengthening and supporting black institutions, pledging allegiance to all black leadership who have embraced the black value system, personal commitment to the embracement of the black value system.” To this excerpt Hanity had this to say, “As a Christian, sir, I think, as a Christian, you should not separate by race in this day and age. And that's why a lot of people are going to look at that and say, "We're all supposed to be united under Christ, aren't we?" Wright then goes on to say that “that comes out of the perspective of liberation theology and black liberation theology. And I keep asking him, how many books of Cone's has he read? How many books of Dwight Hopkins? How many liberation theologians does he know?” Wright pretty much talks in circle throughout the entirety of the interview to defend his church. When the facts is that if you were to walk into that church you would be received by a sermon filled with hate speech and black separatism. This kind of preaching has to have had an affect on Obama, in my opinion. And onto his wife, she is a published PHD and her published paper preaches separatism and segregation. I wonder how the views of very influential people in his life will affect the way he runs the country…

As for the future of America, there are extensive reasons as to why I believe Obama is not a good choice for President, but I will only name a select few here. Obama has stated that he stands for change. What is he thinking of changing? He will raise taxes, redistribute the wealth, and increase funding is social programs the way democrats always do. He is planning on starting right away with nationalized free health care that will raise the working-mans taxes. He speaks of change, and yet, all of his appointees for his cabinet are either Clinton insiders, or where directly appointed by Clinton himself. If you want to get technical, Obama doesn’t even represent the Democratic Party, he represents the farthest left faction of the Democratic Party. Obama, as he outlines in his book The Audacity of Hope, describes his beliefs, which, coincidentally align themselves with a Socialist Regime. The US needs to prepare for four years of false hope, and broken promises.

These are only my opinions and I strongly encourage you to go do some research of your own on who is our President-elect. I am well aware that most of my opinions are not what people agree with and they tend to cause arguments, which is why I think I was chosen to write this piece. I strongly encourage you to research this topic on your own and formulate your own opinions based on facts that you find and not simply on the ones that I have found. Feel free to check some of the places I’m listing below, they are just a few places I looked, however, most of what I think has come from discussions and years of debating with people, so take from this what you will.
